EUR-OCEANS Modelling Summer School
Modern Methods For Ecosystem Modelling
SAMS, Oban, Scotland, 30th June-7th July
Using techniques developed over the last 20 years to describe trophic interactions, historic trends in ecosystems and the effects of climate and other environmental drivers, the collection of international lecturers' teaching in this summer school will increase students' knowledge of the marine environment and how environmental change will affect marine ecosystems in the future.
Giving students hands-on experience in modern techniques for modelling ecosystems including: Ecopath with Ecosim (EwE), ecological network analysis (ENA), inverse modelling, and coupling physical-biological models such as POLCOMS and plankton models will enable students to apply these methods in their future research programmes.
